This Investment grade Koroit Boulder Opal has very nice green, red, blue, and orange colors all over the stone. The crystal opal in the center has most of the same colors. The whole stone sparkles, and the colors dance as the stone moves in light. There is some lifting which is perfectly common for Koroit material. Koroit is a mining area in Queensland Australia. The silicate settled into cracks and seams into the ironstone and sand. This formed unique patterns. The silicate also settled into globules of Opal surrounded by host stone, called Koroit nuts. Sometimes these nuts are full of Opal, and sometimes they aren’t. 

Pictures were taken inside using a standard desktop lamp. I took the pictures with my iPhone. No enhancements were made to the pictures at all.
