The Crystal sits on Grey potch, but viewed from the top, the face is darker than the grey. Mostly green and orange color flashes, but there are also some blue flashes. Lightning Ridge in Australia is known as “the black opal Capital of the World.” Although, white and Crystal Opal are also found in Lightning Ridge, the black Opal that comes out of the ground there is the most sought after Opal in the world. There are varying shades of Opal rated from N1 to N9. N1 being the darkest black and N9 being white base. The white base that comes from Lightning Ridge Can be just beautiful and stable as the black.
